"Shit. Now we're killing our own kids. This has gotta stop."--my dad, May 4 1970, while watching the Huntley-Brinkley Report, I think. Whatever was on NBC. He'd been all for the Vietnam War before then.
He was in the minority at the time, you know. A large majority of Americans initially felt the authorities should shoot MORE of the protesters, but it shifted pretty quickly. I was only 10 at the time, but I remember that summer.
I grew up in Madison, Wisconsin and the UW-Madison campus was second only to UC-Berkeley in student protest and activism. My father was chair of the local John Birch Society and if offered the opportunity, might well have been naive enough to do the photo shit for the FBI. I was so indoctrinated to the whole 'America-The-Beautiful' crap it would be a couple more years -- and spending a night in jail where I witnessed cop violence -- that I began to open my eyes.
I had a great American Literature professor in my freshman year of college who had done a lot of research on Henry David Thoreau and reading his 'Essay on Civil Disobedience' changed my world view. (An example of why university liberal arts programs are being refunded and under attack.)
Now, many decades later, and I am still learning of the lies, deceptions and hypocrisy of our corrupt political and economic system. It ... never ... F'ing ... ends.
I was in Highschool in Vienna AIS when the announcement came through. We had three student teachers from Kent State with us for a Semester. It was mind blowing. We had all just been to a Jimi Hendrix concert.
If Governors of 49 other States were a true Patriot like him, the Constitutional Republic would be restored and Peace and Goodwill to many, shall be a reality.
Mark, thank you so much! This is a lot to digest. I live in Roanoke, Virginia, but I have a friend who attended Berea college with me in the late 60s who lives near the location mentioned in North Carolina. Let’s just say that my friend is very curious. Thanks again. George.
You're welcome. Thanks to Kelley for the link. Let me know if your friend has any updates. I added the website link to the copy below the photo of Terry Norman in the post.
I just found some info in a very poorly copy edited article on the Kent State website. Norman went on to live a pretty shit career as a scammer and parasite. Terrible person.
Thanks for this, Kelley. Lots of interesting info and links on this site!
I did not know the pistol he had on campus was provided by the local police and that shortly after the murders he was seen freely walking around inside the campus administration building. Sure sounds like his school assignment on that day was more than to just take photos on campus. Yet another example of the shameful and traitorous behavior of the government and police.
I would wonder how the guy sleeps at night except sociopaths always sleep well because they don't have a conscience to bother them in the quiet of the night.

For some reason, they won't let us make "Ohio" our state song...
Oh, undoubtedly they have a million reasons -- and billionaires giving millions.

FYI: I just updated the post.
If Governors of 49 other States were a true Patriot like him, the Constitutional Republic would be restored and Peace and Goodwill to many, shall be a reality.
A true patriot like whom? This was, as the article points out, "A terror campaign . . . waged against civilians by a criminal government."
Watch the video regarding governor of Wisconsin trying to save the Nation and he has been threatened by criminal government
Mark, do you have any idea what became of Terry Norman?
Check this out: "Kent State - Man gives his first interview in 36 years that confirms the story protesters told" ... https://www.historynewsnetwork.org/article/kent-state---man-gives-his-first-interview-in-36-y
It gives a brief overview of a story but when you click the link the page no longer exists.
FBI anyone?
George, see the new comments below from Kelley Lane.

Essentially, yes. I don’t have any further details.
He’s in NC, Pisgah Forest
Do you know what he's doing there? Hiding out?
