I came from the same viewpoint--thinking Israel as somewhat "neutral" and that the native peoples were confined but treated somewhat fairly, but since October 7 my eyes have been popped open by the cruelty and barbarity of the IOF/IDF and they will stay open from now on. In our increasingly censored country, finding alternative pathways to truth is important because you won't find it on the corporate highway overpass to hell. There was a common attitude of admiration for the swift 6 day winning of a war. I knew nothing of the context or the peoples. Or the uncomfortable connective threads with where I lived. So many acquaintances also undertook that recommended right of passage - working in a kibbutz!!! So very much the thing to do...

DC and published in 1984. i discovered this stunpolling historical~pictorial acct. of palestinian history in 1988, soon after we had moved our family to amman, in the hashemite kingdom of jordan, in order to undertake a 3-yr. IUCN contract. i was utterly stupefied by how misled by zionist/western propaganda everyone in canada and the US had been. it would not be hyperbolic to admit i was radicalized by that outstanding, informative, and heart-searing publication.
