MAFIA STATE: The White House Ukraine Deal They Won't Let You Refuse

"...we’ll send your uncles, cousins and sons to fight Russia."

Conservative pundit Tucker Carlson caused a bit of a stir last week with a Dec. 7 tweet regarding a closed-door classified meeting of Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin III with congressional House members making a desperate pitch for distribution of more funds for the completely stalled out Ukraine war effort:

“The Biden administration is openly threatening Americans over Ukraine,” Carlson noted, adding, “In a classified briefing in the House yesterday, defense secretary Lloyd Austin informed members that if they don’t appropriate more money for Zelensky, ‘we’ll send your uncles, cousins and sons to fight Russia.’” Pay the oligarchs or we’ll kill your kids.”

Elon Musk tweeted, “He really said that?”

Carlson was not in the meeting, but confirmed Biden had, and reported hearing about it from several sources who were. The tweet triggered a bit of a brush fire, with some raising the alarm over pending US on-the-ground troop involvement, while FOX news correspondent Jennifer Griffin — citing two sources in the meeting — dismissed Carlson’s claim as “100 [percent] not true”.

I was unable to find a response from Austin.

But really, the media kerfuffle doesn’t matter. One just needs to listen to other highly-placed White House sources threatening right out in the open of possible active involvement of US soldiers facing off with Russian troops in the frozen trenches of Ukraine.

Blood threat

For example, in a press briefing Dec. 6, White House spokesman John Kirby made clear the threat that abandoning Ukraine now would directly lead to US military involvement in Europe: "If you think the cost of supporting Ukraine is high now, just imagine how much higher it's gonna be...in American blood...!"

If that’s not enough to cause you some lost sleep, in a press briefing Dec. 7, Pres. Biden himself was clear about sending American troops off to on-the-ground fighting in Europe: “When we’ve committed as a NATO member that we defend every inch of NATO territory…then we’ll have something that we don’t seek and that we don’t have today: American troops fighting Russian troops. American troops fighting Russian troops, if he [Putin] moves into other parts of NATO.”

Could Biden slide around congress to send troops into active duty in Ukraine? Given congress essentially long ago passed off their Constitutional duty to declare war to the president, the answer is most likely yes. But would Biden really be willing to do so? Consider three recent Biden foreign policy decisions:

• Intentional sabotage of a peace agreement between Ukraine and Russian leader Vladimir Putin that would have prevented the grinding loss of a half-million — and counting — Ukraine and Russian troops, the maiming of many more, dislocation of millions and widespread destruction it will take Ukraine decades — if ever — to recover from.

• The US destruction of the Nord Steam gas pipeline was the single greatest intentional act of eco-terrorism in the world and resulted in economic hardship throughout Europe, triggering de-industrialization of the German manufacturing base.

• Active participation through economic support, provision of weapons and bombs and diplomatic cover, lies and excuses for one of the greatest acts of industrialized fascist genocide since WW II, with the brutal Israeli attack and occupation of Gaza following the Oct. 7 Hamas cross-border attack.

All three have been monumental, cynical, criminal acts, pushing the bounds of international norms and sanity … to say nothing of morality.

Drift to military draft

Of course at a time when the Army, Navy and Airforce have all fallen short of recruitment goals — the worst deficit since the all-volunteer military was instituted in 1973 — any involvement with a major military force like the Russians or multi-national warfare in the Middle East would demand a return of the military draft. Are Americans — especially those of draft-age — up for that?

It’s a question they are likely soon to face.

So, will Biden and the Democrats be willing to send American troops off to kill and die in Ukraine? You can bet a bloody foot in your Christmas stocking that they would, and — when the time comes — will.
