DUH! Now We Know Why US & Israel Refuse A Ceasefire In Gaza
It's a lot easier to drill gas and oil from a parking lot than a neighborhood

Doesn’t it seem a tad odd that despite a worldwide campaign to get a ceasefire in the US/Israeli genocide in Gaza — which includes support from 66% of Americans and close to 80% of Democrats — that the Biden White House and pretty much all of congress refuses to even consider a ceasefire. I mean, hell, you’d think the optics of dead children, maimed and distraught parents and hospitals under brutal fascistic terrorist attack while an addle-brained president and plump Republicans sneer at the mere mention of halting the carnage would be a public relations risk.
But now the truth is out. Not in the US media, mind you, but on the Russia Today (RT) network.
Now before you click away, remember that the Israeli Defense Forces in Gaza are actively editing all news now broadcast by US corporate media coming out of the area.
While there have a been a few peripheral mentions of newly discovered oil off the coast of Gaza, the details have been ignored. RT filled in the picture. Turns out there is quite a load of oil and natural gas resources in Gaza. Estimates are of 1.5 billion barrels of oil and 1.4 trillion cubic feet of natural gas, worth at least $453 billion and likely more. Two British Gas wells in Gazan waters quickly produced $47 billion — none of which, of course, went to the Gazans. Israel quickly pocketed the cash.
The Israelis have issued 12 new drilling permits to six companies.
And with the US bombing of the Russian Nord Stream natural gas pipeline, there is a ready European market for Israel’s stolen Gazan natural gas reserves. Coincidence, you say? The United States War Department has a 2,000-pound bomb to deliver to your living room.
It all becomes clear
So now we know the reason for the vicious non-stop bombing campaign that has so far been the equivalent of twice the destruction of the nuclear bomb dropped on another defenseless civilian target in Hiroshima.
But, hey, what the hell, it's a lot easier to drill gas and oil from a parking lot than a neighborhood.
Truly, it is the human rights charade of the disastrous Cheney-Bush Iraq War on Terror all over again.
And, as Trump fully acknowledged in 2019 of our continued troop presence in Syria: “We’re keeping the oil. We have the oil. The oil is secure. We left troops behind only for the oil.”
Undoubtedly, Conoco Oil investors — which has a facility in the area of the US military base — are most appreciative.
Trump’s braggadocios candor is unknown among American presidents, showing that genocide and war crimes in the cause of corporate profits is a thoroughly, top-to-bottom bipartisan scam. And make no mistake, our troops in Syria also provide handy bait for a terrorist attack that can then be leveraged to excuse another war. Never mind, if American service members die in the process.
BTW, for any of you young folks out there, keep all this in mind when the military draft gets revived and comes sniffing around for you. You will not be sent off to the Middle East for fetid promises of “freedom and democracy”. You will be sent off to be chopped up and spiritually broken for oil and natural gas executives, Wall Street profits and increased fossil fuel market share.
As RT correspondent Siska Taylor warns at the end of the broadcast: “Always ask yourself ‘Cul Bono’…’Who Benefits?’”
It clearly will not be you or the people of the Middle East.
As with all our wars, no one but the most venal who rule us will profit.
I wrote about the oil and gas under Gaza a couple of weeks ago in my piece “The Root of All Evils.” Glad to see everyone can see through the b.s. about us helping “democracy” in Israel from “terrorists”. Yeah, it’s just your typical conflict for oil with a little bit of Zionist genocide thrown in on the side. Sicko!
