Code Pink Puts Wisconsin 'Progressive' Sen. Tammy Baldwin's Hypocrisy & Cowardice On Display

Even the cops pushing questioners aside could not shield Baldwin from showing the true kind of person she is: Just another callous Congressional Genocider.

As proof of the absolute, knee-bending corrupting influence of Israeli Zionist big money on Congress, there is no bigger, stomach-churning example than Wisconsin Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D). Elected in 2012 as the first openly gay person to the Senate, Baldwin has been a progressive icon for many. Other than speaking out on gay and trans issues, I have always found her to be a kind of political ghost on most issues. But, hey, she was gay, so Wisconsin Democrats have been happy with her.

But her usual low profile has gone subterranean when it comes to addressing the genocidal massacre of Gazan and West Bank Palestinians. A recent encounter with the senator by Medea Benjamin and other Code Pink activists put Baldwin’s selective progressive sham in the light. The reason for Baldwin’s aloof, steely silence toward Code Pink is obvious, given the campaign funding contributions she has received. In 2018, for example, Baldwin recieved the fourth highest funding in the Senate from pro-Israel groups.

While quietly supporting a few perfunctory tepid CYA calls for some kind of Gaza ceasefire and humanitarian relief support for the starving children, Baldwin has dutifully supported funding of US weapons — including 2,000-lb bombs and cluster munitions dropped on neighborhoods and refugee tent encampments — to magnify the ongoing US/Israel genocide.

A wink and a hug

As any good Congressional Democrat liberal does, Baldwin always looks to giving a wink and a hug to all sides while doing nothing to address fundamental systemic injustice and violence.

As her website shows — despite mounting deaths of thousands of innocent children in Gaza — she has essentially been silent since March 22. My guess is she got a call from a big money source and agreed to let the ethnic cleansing go on.

But never mind all that. My guess is Baldwin is working with a personal trainer getting in shape for Israeli Genocider-In-Chief ‘Bibi’ Natanyahu’s July 24 address to a joint session of Congress. In 2015 when the Israeliu war criminal addressed Congress, he was given 26 standing ovations during a 39-minute speech. No doubt Baldwin and the other gelatinous Israel sycophants in Congress have been notified that number needs to increase at least by half this time. OOF! That’s a lot of knee action, which means Baldwin has a lot of work to do to get in shape between now and then.
