Surely there's something in the rules about this. And I am struck by my own parents' quandary, when, one is 90 and the other is 93, and they both exhibit memory issues and trouble with certain kinds of reasoning, and so declared "incompetent," but still have the judgment and general comprehension that gives them the ability to understand what being "moved into a facility" means, and are frightened and profoundly disturbed that THEY HAVE NO VOICE in the legal system (not "Justice System," but LEGAL system) that will effectively take up their assets, sell them, and force two people into a facility regardless of their wishes. How is that elders who are considered "incompetent" but are NOT President of the USA don't even get to vote on where they LIVE, regardless of alternatives and according to ONE of their three offspring, but someone like Joe Biden has half the govt. lining up to swear that he's FINE? We are living in a time of ABSOLUTE ABSURDITY.
And also! I have NO faith that the People even MATTER.... Voting? How do we know it isn't just a FARCICAL SHOW that means nothing whatsoever, while our "leaders" are chosen FOR us, by the Globalist cabal that is behind Covid and all the rest of the bullshit we get handed? I agree alternative parties are needed, but the system itself is so corrupted and warped against third parties we also need direct action: labor organizing; strikes/general strikes; targeted boycotts, mutual aid etc. Unfortunately, things will likely have to get much worse to motivate masses of people to be so involved. I know in my sliver of the world there is nothing like that happening.
One reason we don't have any of those things, is that people have no real way of connecting to bring them about. If we try to do those things on our own, we get labeled "terrorists" or "criminals" or whatever; and the authorities have carte-blanche to do what they want.
If you want "masses" of people to do anything you need to coalesce some sort of structure that allows them to think of themselves as a "mass".
That's the real, original purpose of a "party"; + that's why both empty facades of "parties" are desperately afraid of us having our own.
The left is the only faction in US, + UK politics without any party to exercise its agency. It's also the only faction that's growing. We can either stay stuck being atomized, + then victimized; or we can form something to defend ourselves and our ideas and those we care about.
If Biden is "sharp as a tack" then I'm as skinny as a fashion model. Orf's video really makes the point well--Biden has NO POINT to him at all! The hallmark of the present-day Democratic Party is that they absolutely do not listen, to anyone who helps them.
They want it made clear that their power is theirs, and no one else's.
Biden does the DNC's bidding; and that of their pet super-PACs, and that's all.
They want, at all (*all*) costs to keep it that way.
That's why there's no point in spending any energy to help them, that could be better spent forming a left political party.
