Yeah, that DEI shit just doesn't fly well anymore. Now there is political resistance, and I'm sure a lot of that particular mandated grifting operation is going to get shot down in the courts.

As for Gaza, if you're an American and either support or don't care that your tax dollars are financing a genocide of mostly women and children, I really don't know what to say to you except that your opinion on EVERYTHING is now suspect.

Absolutely!!!

Saw a quote the other day saying that if you ever wondered how you would have acted in Nazi Germany during the Holocaust all you have to do is look at how you are behaving today.

Dude - I am sick of your consistent trolling on the LGBTQ+ community. Knock it the fuck off.

So you’re a Navy vet…that might explain some of it. But you a trolling a community - and, in particular, the trans community (in previous posts, specifically) - that is very vulnerable to hate crimes. And your consistent deriding while speaking appropriately about the war crimes in Palestine makes it all the more apparent that you understand what it means to be a vulnerable community. And you just keep pushing the narrative about something you know nothing about.

And what the fuck would you mean by ‘that DEI shit…” except that you’re a white dude who came up through one of the most patriarchal systems in the world and believe their bullshit.

That picture of “Brandon” is the equivalent of the maga Trump with a Rambo body, truly one and the same.

Excellent observation. I hadn't thought of that, but you are right. I bet they have whole social media meme and image enhancement teams in the campaigns now. How nice they are taking the usual bullshit of campaigns and making it all shiny.

People are using “lesser of two evils” to justify endorsement of some truly evil shit.

His publication "Capitol Hill Citizen" is not soft on Biden

Ralph Nader correctly observes, "The 'lesser of two evils' is still evil."

I did some freelance cartoon and illustration work for Ralph many years ago and have a lot of respect for him. Then -- sigh -- he was one of the first to come out and endorse Biden for 2024. He even put together a blueprint for government and corporate reform for them to campaign on.

Biden's babysitters and the Dem Party officials looked down their pale snouts at Ralph and didn't even acknowledge, much less thank him for his endorsement and offer to help. It was an embarrassment for Ralph. I don't think Ralph has fully grasped just how much of a corporate mockery of democracy the United States has become.

I tried to reply twice but something weird happened...

Briefly, yes the Citizen is great, though I haven't gotten any notifications of new editions for many months. I had wondered if they had stopped publishing. I just ordered the latest edition.

I do think Nader under appreciates just how compromised and taken over our "democracy" is by the military/industrial complex. As incompetent Trump and babbling Biden have demonstrated, the president isn't running much of anything. And the opposition to the US/Israeli genocide demonstrates (60+% of Americans want a ceasefire), citizens have no real say anymore. Ralph would say contact your congress critter. I have contacted my senator and rep pretty much every day since the genocide began and the R&D support for mass killing doesn't waver.

While certainly never ideal, the change that has happened in the government is deep and profound.

Eugene Debs knew it 112 years ago--why do so few American voters think that Ds and Rs are two different parties?

The "Demonic Genocide Joe" meme was just horribly unfunny. Truly he and his campaign staff have no souls. I'm just surprised they didn't add a few dead babies in for effect, but glad they didn't!

Agreed. I am just stunned at the naivete of most people, even -- sometimes especially -- well-educated people. I have had no success at motivating people in my community to do anything and I have reached out to a number of groups and don't even get a response. The left is just dead.

I'm not sure the left is "dead" but it's gone deep underground in some areas. That's why I think so many of us are active online. We have to reach out across the miles to organize into larger groups or long-distanced groups. But there could be some lefties in your area who are just as lonely as you are. Keep the lock out for them.

I hope you are right. I moved to a new community four years ago, in the midst of the pandemic, and have met very few people and those I have met are pretty traditional "vote blue no matter who" liberal democrats. It's a tourist area with lots of comfortable/wealthy retired professional folks. Nobody wants to talk about the genocide. I've tried working with two liberal church congregations but they are comfortable boomers more concerned about planning their next Florida vacation than working to stop a war their grandkids will be drafted into.

I was doing some organizing in a statewide group but it was all Zoom calls, no interest in ever meeting up in-person or going in-person to meet other groups or support events. After many attempts to try and get some of that going, I stepped away from the group, They were shocked, but I couldn't do it anymore. Zoom is a tool, not a means of political action.

A few years ago I got involved in a DSA group in my old community and I initially had some hope there, but it turned out to be woke revolutionary posing.

I know, I'm whining, but damn, I am frustrated and tired. At this point, making political cartoons and art available as a form of mutual aid is all that I seem able to do. If something presents itself I'll definitely take a look, but it has to be about action, not just talk.

Your art is much appreciated and is needed, so please keep it up. Your unique artistic talent is supporting and growing the Left. I agree about the Zoom rooms and endless meetings... I've dropped out of groups because that was all they were interested in as well. All talk, no action. I find more like-minded people by standing on street corners with our Free Palestine signs in hand. Keep looking!

Look for people who call themselves "Independents". You will discover more and more people joining the ranks. People who long ago killed their TV and started reading books again. People who don't let the mainstream news media tell them what to think or what misinformation to believe.
