The Mayo Clinic wouldn’t have existed at all except for the fundraising efforts of a group of Catholic nuns, Sisters of St. Francis. It took 6 years to raise the money and opened with the Mayo brothers (both doctors) and one more physician. The story is on PBS under American Experience. It sounds like all of that is forgotten in its greed for money and prestige.

Interesting. I didn't know that. The health group I worked for, the Gundersen Health System was also begun by a couple brothers and was focused on community care. In my time there it went from that feeling to cold, corporate "productivity". I think the Mayo and Gundersen families would be disgusted with what has metastasized.

Mr. Mumbles, I believe you are so duped by the people you represent you actually believe yourself. That you really are trying but are immobilized by forces beyond your simple minded brain. The poison, the greed, the toxicity upon which you lay is lethal. Mr. Mumbles please shake it off and… and… never mind. There has never been a time when you existed for ‘liberty and justice for all’. If only the dam ForeFathers had left out those three letters ‘all’. Mr.Mumbles, you were duped from day one weren’t you? You.. Mr. Mumbles you don’t represent a party… you represent what we all are feeling. We are all you!! Now all immobilized in a cast waiting for November 5th. … waiting as if anything will change. Happy Halloween.

Mark. I have been a Socialist all my life.

Reasons why:

Healthcare for all.

Housing

GOOD education.

NONE of the above have happened in the USA for decades and STILL the people vote for......what?

Education. Many countries I have lived in and MOST older Americans travel in Coaches/never talk or integrate with the people.

PROFOUNDLY illiterate/dim people.

my recollection was that in 2019 kamala was for for medicare advantage™️, a distinction that few understood as a privatized version that was to undermine the government plan we pay into in hopes we live long enough to be eligible and now be old enough to use it before it is killed and kills

From a Politico story:

"Vice President Kamala Harris is no longer a “Medicare for All” champion. Progressives are looking the other way.

"Harris co-sponsored Sen. Bernie Sanders’ Medicare for All legislation when she was a California senator and offered a modified plan as the centerpiece of her short-lived 2020 presidential bid. But a campaign official told POLITICO it is no longer part of Harris’ agenda."
