Brilliantly horrifying. I am descended from a man who was with Washington at Valley Forge. Biden insulted him and all of his brothers in arms, especially Washington, by delivering his vile bile in that locale.
Wow, what family history! Wonder what he would think of what we have become.
Biden and his staff were so callously hypocritical to choose that locale. I wasn't planning to write anything yesterday, but happened to see his speech and was enraged and stayed up almost til midnight drawing and hammering away at the keyboard.
God he is disgusting.
A friend wrote me this morning with version of the lesser-of-two-evils argument. I wrote back that Biden and Trump are today's Mussolini and Hitler. There really is no choice.
Genocide Joe has always served the worst of the oligarchy. The MIC, Big Pharma, prison-industrial complex, dog-whistling to the real racist whites of times past with his Crime Bill while profiting the latter, finance capital with bankruptcy deform, and AIPAC.
Oh yes, AIPAC. Genocide Joe has always been a fervent Zionist, much more fanatical than many Israelis themselves, which got him even more money from AIPAC, which was the point.
Hitler? Mussolini? I don't think comparing Biden and Trump is fair to those two in a historical context. At least they were genuine leaders of political movements. Biden's always been a rather dull tool, and Trump's just a natural-born snake oil/used car salesman who was born into WAY too much money.
In a way, that perspective makes Trump appear far less dangerous than Biden, and Biden's appearance at Valley Forge even more repugnant.
The metaphor I use -- and may have shared with you before -- is that the Republicans are driving 125 mph into a fascist wall and the Democrats are doing the same at 85 mph. When you consider Biden's sabotage of the Russia/Ukraine peace agreement and the resulting 500,000 dead Ukrainians and (I believe) 300,000 dead Russians .. and still counting ... Biden will have probably killed a million ... and upped the speed to 95 mph.
Add to that the eco-terrorism of Nord Stream and Biden is getting well into the history books of war criminals.
Neither Trump nor Biden are great leaders, they are both dull, rusty tools of the corporate state ... they are "Products", not the "Problem".
Biden is no war criminal. Armchair jackals. Critics who like their own grist. Someone said, Small minds talk about people, medium talk about events, great minds talk about ideas. Heckler muppets, pretending to know Mussolini versus President Biden. Dopey echo chamber. Bile and venom based on self-admiration at a late stage. Sometimes old people get grumpy, sit in corner chuckling, taking potshots at accomplished people working for the greater good. My husband just called. It snowed last night. 7 a.m. Putin dropped hardware on Zaporizhzhia, could hear 4 thunks. The whole country, sirens go, decision was not to fan out for food distribution today. Sense of a stalemate, life goes on. Putin would love Trump to win. U.S., immigrants or refugees want a strong arm leader to beat up on strong arm leader that chased them from their country. Angry damaged people don’t want a democracy, Americans who side against good government side with those. Cranky-pants together. Negotiation and compromise, democracy, is a win-win but siding with despots appeals, as easy. Biden administration works, accomplishing a lot for you, grateful or sneery. Trump and supporters, a know-nothing dud. Putin laughs along with cranky old guys in the corner, siding with Putin when slagging accomplished democratically elected public servants. Pals with despots, the American old-guys community. Sunset angst. Be solution, do something. Scorn is rot.
Breaking Point, as you say, is about opposing. 1. Opposition to corporate (power in politics), check. Money in politics needs to go. Bankrolled, the highest donation candidates simply win--and credibility rather than money, is a higher value. 2. Bipartisan, agreement bourn of negotiations and compromise, is a win. The idea “working together” has to be curtailed seems nonsensical. It’s not as if politics fights the people, and odd-logic, ensure strength in legislation by encouraging factions? I don’t see how that is a necessity or supports progress or social good. 3. Opposing Fascism, agree with you there. Who is a Fascist? Biden is not. Trump is, i.e., Fascist: dictator, centralized autocracy, authoritarian, intolerant, forcible suppression of opposition, oppressive, domineering, far-right, ultranationalist, belief in a natural social hierarchy, interested in overthrow (of democracy as obstacle), and in replacing in-group members, due to perception of subordinate individuals, violent political power.
I thought your cartoon was a picture for another indie presidential candidate, namely, "Cthulu--why vote for the lesser evil when you can vote for pure evil?" at first. But I see now it's just Biden regurgitating all the platitudes and pat phrases that have "Made America Great!" Yeah, whoopity-do-dah, the old plagiarist has announced his candidacy. Now he can fall over dead and the DNC announce their puppet.
I was envisioning the character more as the entire f'ed up country and all the lies and BS we tell ourselves about ourselves and everyone else in the world. The shit we vomit up...
I remember early on in Biden's candidacy and then presidency looking at the balled-up fists and thinking it's such a common trait with Parkinson's patients to suppress the resting tremors. You never see him do it in the old videos of him delivering speeches.
That is interesting! Could that also be part of his stiff, awkward walk? He often looks brittle as he walks or moves about on stage. During the Valley Forge speech, physically he looked better than usual and he didn't bumble with words anymore than most people. They must have had him on a good mix of meds.
I do think that the stage we're in with the technology there's no need to have Biden present. The only thing is how to gradually rewind people's perception of him in the last actual footage we've seen.
The walk, the near-shouting (inability to control volume of his voice and tendency to whisper - therefore shout), the mask-like rigidity of his expressionless face and squinty eyes, the tripping.
Some can also be side effects of botox injections which are used to tone down involuntary movements.
Trump always bumbles with words, word salad. Tump has lost the plot. Biden administration is juggernaut of ideas that are working. Trump’s contingent enjoys a giggle and a sneer with Trump, until he decides to can them, competent or not.
His idea about genocide is working flawlessly. Every day more kids are killed and ripped apart. Something we Americans can be proud of and our war contractors benefit from.
A update of "Genocide" Joe's stellar record: CARTOON: The Greatest Friend Of Fascism
Re balled fists. Parkinson’s, if your diagnosis is reliable, is little compared with deranged dementia of Trump. Trump opens his mouth and out spills nonsense. Trump knows nothing of legislation, history, world politics or geography, leadership strategies, or the Bible. Trump’s single accomplishment was tax cuts to benefit the wealthiest. An unhinged self-admiring entertainer. Meantime Biden administration has measurably accomplished improvements that regular people, workers, enjoy. Trump is a has-been. I hope Republicans support Christie, he calls Trump for what he is, liar, insurrectionist, sexual predator, mafia don.
And Biden has done a masterful job of sabotaging a peace agreement leading to a bloody war in Ukraine where close to a million have died, he was super efficient at orchestrating the greatest act of eco-terrorism in the world and now is instrumental in conducting the greatest act of genocide of this century, which is now scaling up with mass starvation and disease as wounded children are having limb amputations without anesthesia. We provide the bombs AND block the anesthesia. GENIUS!!!.
On top of that he was masterful at abandoning campaign promises like the $2,000 support payments, minimum wage, national health insurance, all while handing out more drilling permits on federal land and water than Trump.
The Republicans are driving us into the wall of fascism at 125 mph, while dems are doing it at 85 mph. They are both corporate psy-ops in a brand new party ... well, not so new: https://mark192.substack.com/p/the-one-party-republocrat
I agree, Re the MAGA-Republicans decisions ARE sort of Fascist (EXCEPT suppressing rights for good of “the nation or race”--whereas MAGA suppress rights to benefit top % of wealthy). Fascism: “authoritarian, ultranationalist political ideology, characterized by a dictator, centralized autocracy, militarism, forcible suppression of opposition, belief in a natural social hierarchy.”
You’re wrong about abandoned campaign promises. Biden administration had legislated on promises, e.g., employment, infrastructure investment, gun violence reduction, veterans’ care, protecting minorities, support for Ukraine, counter terrorism, reproductive rights, climate, environment including cleaning up effects of abandoned mines, and health insurance.
Biden didn’t sabotage Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, you credit Putin with listening to what Biden (or Trump) think! Uninformed. My husband is in Ukraine now, the past few months with NGO, Siobhan Trust, Scotland, distributing food to places with displaced populations without water, heat, or food. Last year’s project, dropintheocean.org, Norway, was food bank in Poland, distributing groceries and clothing to displaced people.
Re “close to a million have died,” is inaccurate. Dead are 120,000 Russian military, 70,000 Ukrainian military, 10,000 civilians. UN Sep to Nov 2023. A 3:1 ratio of dead and injured Russian military versus Ukrainian side, is what Putin has done, when he miscalculated HIS resolve and ambition as stronger than Ukraine and Western allies.
First, a salute to your husband for helping the victims of Biden/Nato war making. If you haven't heard of Boris Johnson's trip to Zalensky to quash the mutually agreed peace treaty between U&R, do an internet search. The Ukraine war was not started until after Biden took office, so I don't recall him talking about Ukraine in the campaign.
Thank God, Biden followed up on the promise of a national health plan he promised! WHOOPS, didn't happen.
But at least the $15 minimum wage went into effect. DANG, that didn't happen either.
At least Biden beat Trump at ... handing out more gas and oil well drilling permits on federal lands, despite promises to address climate crisis.
I do agree I misstated the death toll in Ukraine. "Casualties" includes wounded/injured: "Hundreds of thousands wounded and dead in Ukraine as war grinds on, intelligence suggests" https://www.cbc.ca/news/world/russia-ukraine-1.7053035
Many of those wounded have lifelong disabilities. I remember a few months ago that the need for artificial limbs exceeded number for WW I. Having worked with US military combat vets I know many of those injuries leave them traumatized and unable to work and support themselves and families.
Bottomline, ALL these casualties could have been prevented if Biden and Nato hadn't sabotaged the peace agreement and the US and Nato violated the agreement with Russia not to push Nato up to their border over the past 30 years. Imagine if Russia were at the Mexican border.
But where Biden has really excelled is all-out support for the US/Israeli genocide where the most recent count I heard -- 3 days ago -- was 22,000 dead. Three-quarters being women, children and infants. Another 7,000 ESTIMATE of bodies buried beneath bombed out hospitals, schools, mosques, churches, UN refugee areas and residential building ... but that has been described as minimum. God knows how many vaporized at the moment of impact.
Over 100 journalist and many of their families have been targeted and murdered by the US and Israel.
In urban combat in Mosul the US military limited bomb size to 500 lbs. to minimize civilian deaths and injury. Israel is routinely using 2,000-lb (American made) bombs in even more densely populated areas.
As of last week, some 1,000 children had limbs amputated -- some multiple -- WITHOUT anesthesia because the US and Israel are blocking anesthesia. God knows how many more since ... and to come. That cruelty is on Joe Biden...and all of us.
None of this could be happening without US money, weapons, intel coordination and diplomatic cover. Biden -- a self-proclaimed Zionist -- could stop it all with a phone call, but he won't. He holds the record of donations from the Zionist AIPAC ... I believe it topped over at $2 million.
What is happening is genocide, a war crime and Biden is making it all possible. If you doubt the designation, I just had a new post drop on my Substack addressing the issue: "GENOCIDE? There's No Doubt, That Is What US/Israeli Action In Gaza Is" https://mark192.substack.com/p/genocide-theres-no-doubt-that-is
Vote for old doddering "Genocide" Joe if you want, but not me. And, no, I won't vote for Trump. I won't vote for Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) either because of her support for the US/Israeli genocide. I probably won't vote above local races and maybe one statewide race.
Russia annexed Crimea from Ukraine by force, in 2014. (Notice, That wasn’t Biden). Ukraine sought $15 million from Trump to fight Russia, but Trump wanted dirt on Biden. Denied Zelenskyy what he needed.
Ad hominem disparaging, where a person's point has no foundation to stand on, so they sneer about personal attributes, "old doddering," and "Genocide Joe," name-calling, says you've got nothing else. You won't vote for president so you'll get the president you deserve, can't complain. "If you want my reality of the US political game," but don't you think the name "Republocrats" is a give-away about bias of your selected reference?
Your assertions, "A war crime that Biden is making possible." The aggressor is Russia's Putin. I agree that Israel's current right-wing leader is intent on destroy all of the people in Gaza. The U.S. and the world is doing what they can to prevent genocide. Meantime Iran and North Korea may sell whatever Hamas and Hezbollah may buy, or Russia for that matter. Them, fighting back with weapons supplied by their allies only makes Netanyahu want revenge. Not likely to slow down or stop to listen to advice to play-nice. Yours suggests you could figure it out. Run for office. Scorn is too easy.
"U.S. money," Biden "a Zionist." Formerly supporting the idea that Israel should be able to live free from opportunistic pot-shots from neighboring countries, but then curtailing support when avenging deaths and rescuing or shooting hostages becomes indistinguishably spread across former borders.
You see the war and say, "this is your fault," because you don't support Biden, you support Trump (despite pretending America is not trying to help anyone, just, every man for themself, scorn is something different from ideas or leadership).
Is it true "the U.S. is blocking anesthesia"? No. What kind of help do you think will help? You can figure it all out from your basement. Consider running. Armchair activism is worth what you paid for it.
Israel is not the only one with bombs, and attitude and angst to murderously lash out. The U.S. and everyone is trying to broker-a-deal to stop tantrum from being policy in the region. You say "by the US and Israel." Israel is an independent country. The American government does not tell them what to do, though stopping mass suffering is everyone's goal and experts are working on the matter 24/7, not just you.
You figure nothing would have ignited Hamas to start fighting back, "if Biden and Nato hadn't sabotaged the peace agreement and the US and Nato violated the agreement with Russia not to push Nato up to their border over the past 30 years." You believe in appeasement. You believe it is accurate to say Biden and NATO sabotaged a peace agreement between Hamas and Israel. Russia, entering to take Ukraine was Putin's idea. Putin "knew" Ukraine was amenable to being taken over--he miscalculated.
Ukraine and Russia are similar in that way. In WW II 6 million Jews were murdered, and 10 million Russians died. Ukraine doesn't give up as Russia doesn't give up. Putin decided he liked what he saw, Ukraine enjoying prosperity, and Putin unilaterally decided to take over. He wasn't expecting pushback from people he sees as similar to Russians. They aren't Russians but he thought they could be beaten into submission by a show of might and that they "knew" joining would be better than dying (without freedom in their own land). Putin miscalculated.
1. "Biden beat Trump, handing out more gas and oil well drilling permits on federal lands, despite promises to address climate crisis." 2. Biden's climate plans are bigger than Trump's--Trump denied climate change (it's called seasons, it's called the weather).
1. "Biden administration approved 6,430 permits for oil and gas drilling on public lands in its first 2 years. Trump administration's was 6,172 drilling-permit approvals in its first 2 years. As reported Jan 24, 2023
2. Trump called climate change a hoax and removed the U.S. from the 2015 Paris climate agreement (195 signatories set voluntary limits on greenhouse gas emissions). Biden signed an executive order to rejoin the Paris Agreement on January 20, 2021, his first day in office. The US rejoined on February 19, 2021. Trump offered more area for oil and gas drilling, weakened interpretations of the Endangered Species Act, making it harder to protect their habitats. Trump approved 2 contentious pipeline projects moving vast amounts of oil, encouraged by industry but ignoring farming, climate, and Native American groups. Trump opened federally managed land and ocean for oil and gas drilling including, for the first time, Arctic waters. Trump shrank 2 national parks. Biden reversed Trump’s wildlife rollbacks, reinstating protection of migratory birds and the application of endangered species rules. Reforms to aid species facing Earth’s sixth mass extinction event, such as clean water rules that safeguard streams and wetlands, environmental reviews of potentially destructive projects and halting fossil fuel development in the Arctic national wildlife refuge.
Biden halted oil and gas leasing on public lands, a path to a ban to reverse shrinking of protected national monuments. Goal of protecting 30% of land and oceans by 2030, a plan to create a civilian climate corps, to restore degraded landscapes and waterways. Biden is working with car manufacturers on a higher standard of fuel efficiency. Rollout of clean energy (solar and wind) to shift from polluting sources (coal and gas) that contribute to climate change and poor air quality. Methane standards will be reinstated. Focus placed on communities for better health outcomes instead of living next to pollution sources (highways and industry).
Trump brought deregulation, loosened rules on storing petroleum, weakened standards around lead in paint, fast-tracked toxic flame retardants, and declined to restrict or ban chemicals (from crop pesticides to paint strippers), that scientists warn pose a threat to health.
Biden’s Environmental Protection Agency reviewed how the Toxic Substances Control Act is used to protect people from harmful substances, and reviewed Trump era fast-tracking of chemicals, and decision to not ban harmful substances. Biden aids communities in Louisiana’s “cancer alley,” blighted by nearby chemical facilities.
Trump decided on narrow definition to not oversee pollution of various wetlands and streams. Biden committed to regulating PFAS chemicals (a group of man-made chemicals known as “per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances), known as “forever chemicals” found in the drinking water of almost all Americans, as well as reviewing the application of the clean water act. Environmental regulation, with Trump, businesses or individuals that pollute risk being prosecuted by the federal government but enforcement of dropped off dramatically during Trump years and reviews for the effect of major projects on environment were weakened, enforcement of air pollution rules was relaxed and agencies were restricted from setting new environmental rules.
Biden policies aggressively pursue polluters, particularly in communities, long overlooked. Biden backed fossil fuel companies being sued for damages for the pollution and climate change caused. Trump administration removed rules, a burden on companies that were hardly impacted, while harming the environment. Washing machines and lightbulbs were allowed to be less efficient and less environmentally friendly, coal plants were allowed to dump waste into waterways, air and offshore drilling regulations, implemented after the Deepwater Horizon disaster in the Gulf of Mexico, were repealed. Biden reviewed regulations thrown out by Trump and will likely reinstate them, though court challenges slow the process.
As for Health Care Plan, expanded health coverage and lower prescription drug costs for health insurance. Dec 20, 2023 Statement on the Affordable Care Health Act directs all Americans to visit link, HealthCare.gov before January 16th, 2024 to sign up for health coverage this year. More than 19 million people have signed up for coverage. Enrollment has grown by more than 7 million people since the Biden administration took over.
If you don't vote it's a wasted opportunity to support what you believe in.
"old doddering," ... Just watch him walk and talk. The man is not there. I'm a retired psychotherapist, the dude is not all there. That's why his handlers don't let him do extended one-on-one interviews and the entire Dem Party primary process was shut down so he wouldn't have to debate. How democratic! Do you support that?
"Genocide Joe" ... he's earned it. Just ask the dead and mutilated children our bombs have killed. What about those 2,000 lb bombs in refugee camps? Obviously okay by you.
" "Republocrats" ... I've also used "Democans" but "Republocrats" has a better ring to it. Besides the Democrats have moved to the right and essentially become corporate-coddling Republicans as the Republicans have zoomed even further.
You clearly don't know the history of the Nato incursion on Russia. All I can say is do some research. The war was preventable ... a peace agreement with negotiation on borders had been done. Then Joey sent Boris so the killing -- YIPEE -- could begin and the corporate profits rolling in.
"The U.S. and the world is doing what they can to prevent genocide." ... Not on this plain of reality. The US is almost alone in killing ceasefire votes in the UN. As I noted already but you evaded, WE are supplying the money, bombs, intel collaboration and diplomatic cover for Israel's war crimes. Biden could cut that support with a phone call. Have you heard about the campaign workers leaving because of "Genocide" Joe's genocide? Dissent has been expressed by White House staff and State Dept.
"You see the war and say, "this is your fault," because you don't support Biden, you support Trump" ... You don't win an argument by ignoring what a person has just told you. Reread previous note regarding my plans for voting. (Talk about a smear!)
"Is it true "the U.S. is blocking anesthesia"? No."
Really? You don't know about this little bit of "Genocide" Joe's handiwork? You don't win arguments by ignoring facts: "“Absolutely Unimaginable”: Children in Gaza Face Amputations Without Anesthesia, Death & Disease" https://www.democracynow.org/2023/12/28/palestinian_children_gaza
It's always refreshing to try to dialog with a Democrat... I was co-chair of a Wisconsin country Democratic Party, was active in campaigns, helped with running the campaign HQ, donated far more money than I should have (buying lotto tickets would have been a better investment), did artwork and helped with messaging for the local party and attended congressional district and state party conventions.
So it's always good to get a fresh reminder of why I got away from the stinky , sinking barge.
This back-and-forth has prompted me to run a cartoon on the Democrats I did back in the 2020 campaign. I'll post it in the next day or so. Thanks for the inspiration!
Meanwhile tomorrow or Tuesday I will post a cartoon and column on the mockery of democracy both parties and the entire deadly American kabuki political process represents.

Russian casualties: 318,000 ... dead and wounded: https://www.reuters.com/world/us-intelligence-assesses-ukraine-war-has-cost-russia-315000-casualties-source-2023-12-12/
If you want the reality of the US political game, check out about "Republocrats" ... I portrayed them here: https://mark192.substack.com/p/the-one-party-republocrat
Let's see...
Biden "a Zionist." ... No, really, he has declared it a number of times. By doing so he declared his loyalties are at best divided, and thus he really should be investigated on that. Check it out, this is from December: https://www.politico.com/video/2023/12/11/im-a-zionist-biden-reaffirms-support-for-israel-1164457
"The U.S. and the world is doing what they can to prevent genocide." ...
