Ramping Up Mind-Bending Lies Of War
Flimsy lies are being pushed about the hospital bombing in Gaza.
Despite a long record of Israeli bombing of hospitals, UN schools, refugee settlement areas and even escape routes Israel tells refugees to use, Joe Biden’s “done by the other team” lie exonerating Israel of its Tuesday (10/17) bombing of the al-Ahli Arab Christian hospital in Gaza led to a media sludge pile of lies pinning responsibility for the bombing on Hamas. Estimates are that some 500 Palestinians died in the bombing. This lie came on the heels of last week’s Biden lie about seeing photos of decapitated children.
Just as we saw in the post 9/11 War on Terror error, we are in the midst of a full-on White House campaign of lies geared to stoke mind-bending public fear and outrage.
Chris Hedges, onetime New York Time Middle East bureau chief and experienced front line war correspondent, just (10/18) sent out a column debunking Biden’s claim about the hospital bombing. In it he notes:
“The whistling sound, audible on the video moments before the explosion, appears to comes from the high velocity of a missile. This sound gives it away. No Palestinian rocket makes this noise. And then there is the speed of the missile. Palestinian rockets are slow and lumbering, clearly visible as they arch in the sky and then tumble in free fall towards their targets. They do not strike with precision or travel at close to supersonic speed. They are incapable of killing hundreds of people.”
He cites a number of other lie-busting facts about the bombing.
Beware, folks, the Biden administration and Israel are looking to ramp up this war to a full-blown regional hellscape and lie-stoked passion, reflexive over-response, xenophobic mob impulse and other levers of lies are being put to work.
