Every true American patriot needs to know there is one group of US servicemen whose deaths sacrifice and trauma will go unmentioned, unacknowledged and completely disrespected this Memorial Day. They are the 34 sailors murdered and 174 wounded in a methodical, repeated two-hour Israeli jet fighter and torpedo boat attack on the USS Liberty intelligence ship on June 8, 1967, during the Six-Day War. A total casualty figure of 208 out of a crew of 300.
In the midst of the attack, both Sec. of War Robert Strange McNamara and Pres. Lyndon Johnson ordered the Navy to stand down and not defend the Liberty or even rescue her battered crew. Rescue missions from the nearby US 6th fleet were called back twice as for 17 hours the barely functioning ship was headed toward the fleet as many wounded died.
Yes, you read that right — 17 hours.
Israel, Johnson determined, could not be embarrassed, nor held accountable for the attack on our troops. Clearly, the White House and Pentagon hoped the battered ship would just sink, quietly taking the crew and truth of the Israeli betrayal with it.
The attack was ordered by Israeli Defense Minister Gen. Moshe Dayan, who after the Six Day War was venerated in the US media as a military genius.
Various theories regarding the reason for the attack have been given, but the one most likely true is that Dayan was worried evidence of massive war crime executions of surrendering Egyptian soldiers by Israeli ‘Defense’ Force soldiers would be picked up by the intelligence ship. So thus the ship — and all onboard witnesses — needed to be disappeared. A decision the US government and War Department obviously agreed with.
Afterward, surviving crew members were ordered — threatened — to never speak of the attack and the trauma they witnessed and suffered. They were not even permitted to tell their wives. To violate the order could result in court martial or charges related to violating national security and up to ten years in prison.
Purple Hearts were not awarded in standard ceremonies. They were quietly handed out in envelopes behind closed office doors. A Medal of Honor falsely stated the award was for heroism in Vietnam. As the closing tribute of the second video below shows, some grave markers falsely state death occurred in Vietnam.

No single incident better exemplifies the corrupt, evil death grip Israeli Zionist forces have on the United States government than the methodical murder, wounding and traumatizing of the USS Liberty crew. Sailors betrayed not just by a US ally, but by “our” bought-off, corrupt and traitorous government. An ongoing tradition — as we are seeing with our obsequious arming and funding of the US/Israeli genocide — that continues today.
The 57th anniversary of the murderous attack by Israel on our service members is coming up June 8th. For decades survivors and family members of those murdered have called for Congressional investigations of the attack on the USS Liberty. But of course, with the White House and entire Congress on the grubby dole of the Israeli Zionist lobby, that has not happened, and — treasonously — probably never will.
Today is Memorial Day, dedicated to honoring service members.
June 8th should be Israel Betrayal Day. True patriots will remember the day and the implications it has for the active White House, Congressional, State and War Department treason we are seeing now with the ongoing arming, funding and diplomatic strong arm defense of the Gaza genocide.
June 8th would be a good day to call your Congressional toadies and demand a public investigation of the USS Liberty attack.
To this day, USS Liberty veterans who post anything to FaceBook and other social media frequently have their posts censored. When they speak out they are often smeared as liars and accused of antisemitism.
Have courage and listen to the accounts of the Navy veterans who were deeply betrayed by Israel and the US government. Veterans who, in the absence of a White House-supported Congressional investigation of the USS Liberty attack, are betrayed every single day.
Prepare for more betrayal
Any young people considering enlisting in the military need to watch the videos below, especially the “Cover Up” segment of the second video at the 55-minute mark. USS Liberty veterans reveal the disdain, deception, insults, intimidation and actual threats they received from the military that betrayed them. That’s the criminal organization serving a foreign nation you would be joining. Hint: Save yourself. Don’t.
All these decades later, Zionist fascist interests actively demand and work to silence the USS Liberty veterans and the government continues to betray and abandon these veterans. USS Liberty veterans have for decades lobbied unsuccessfully for just compensation and Congressional hearings on the attack. Rather than defend the USS Liberty crew, the year after the attack, the United States congress increased taxpayer-funded support for Israel by 450 percent. As millions of our fellow Americans go unhoused and uninsured, the US funnels $10 million a day to Israel.
And that was before the billions now being spent to fund the genocide.
This is the same Congress that recently obediently fell in line to investigate peaceful campus protests of the US/Israeli genocide in Gaza after Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu called for an end to protests.
If you have any concern, appreciation and true respect for veterans and national sovereignty, I strongly urge you to watch the second video below, especially given US soldiers are now on the ground in Gaza with Biden’s entirely fraudulent “aid” pier. Based upon the treachery of the attack on the USS Liberty, we can expect Israeli forces to attack our service members to create a false flag attack and pretense to drag us deeper into their war. and campaign of fascist genocide.
