In The Midst of a Newspaper Desert, a Promising Sprout
A powerful new national progressive voice speaks up and out
Under the motto of “Democracy Dies in Broad Daylight”, legendry progressive consumer advocate and champion citizen activist Ralph Nader launched the “Capitol Hill Citizen” in 2022 to provide the kind of in-depth, power-challenging news coverage that has pretty much disappeared from most corporate media. In an age of online everything, Nader and his staff are bucking the avalanche. Other than a barebones website featuring just a few sample pages from each edition, this publication is paper only.
No Instagram.
No Facebook.
No Twittter/X … or whatever the hell it is today.
It's paper only, baby, and it’s GREAT!
The paper comes out every other month at a cost of $5 per issue. The venture is a bit of an experiment, so at this point, there are no subscriptions, though if the interest is there, that may happen.
Each edition has been packed with excellent in-depth news and analysis challenging the bipartisan corporate state media mind blob.
I offered to donate a copy of each edition to my local library but it was quickly turned down without comment. My guess is the Capitol Hill Citizen was a little too challenging for them, but you could try your local library.
