Okay, have to admit I’m a tad embarrassed to say I initially had some high hope of RFK Jr’s maverick run for the White House. I even held onto a shredded scrap or two of hope longer than I should have as tacky details and inconsistencies came to view. But, hey, cut me a little slack! Unless one of them does a face-plant into his chocolate mousse cake at a campaign fundraiser, we’re going to have a Biden vs Trump rerun clustermuck election in 2024.
Well, if anyone still had any hope of a RFK Jr. rescue and revitalization of our sick, addled nation, all that came to a crashing end like an exploding US Himars rocket blowing up a Gaza school when he went on ”Breaking Points” five days ago for a full hour, interview. Co-host Krystal Ball exposed RFK Jr. for the ‘Bibi’ Netanyahu, Zionist-owned front-man he is. He has long denied factual reality, declaring it “absurd” to call Israel the apartheid state it has been since its founding.
Absolutely head spinning
But his heated on-air defense, excusing and dismissal of the painfully well-documented ongoing human suffering in the US/Israeli Gaza genocide was absolutely head spinning. Again, in opposition to reality, Kennedy declared Israel was going to extraordinary steps unseen by any other nation to avoid civilian casualties! Never mind the daily video documentation of the brutal ongoing carpet bombing and artillery shelling of hospitals, schools, apartment complexes and UN refugee centers and growing documentation of sniper executions of civilians by Israeli Defense forces. His callous dismissal of the US-funded and supported human death and suffering, grief and loss was compounded as he dismissed the Palestinians as being “pampered”.
The sight of a scion of unearned familial wealth grounded in criminal activity labeling the battered, bruised and bloodied Palestinians as “pampered” bends the arc of sarcasm into something deeply dark and twisted.
Whatever lingering hint of hope or starry-eyed hallucination of revival of the misty idealism of the long-lost Kennedy Camelot one might have had, all that has now been as thoroughly extinguished, crushed, incinerated and ground into the dirt as if “Bibi” Kennedy had slaughtered a Palestinian child himself.

This is exactly why the Libertarians wouldn't take him. If he'd been genuinely antiwar, they probably would have, and he could have raised holy hell with the Electoral College, but...
Oh well. Good for the Libertarians. At least they stuck by their principles there.
I firmly believe that trying to undo the sins of the nation state within the confines of the nation-state construct will lead to more death and destruction. Along with saving lives, part of what I want to do is to encourage more of us to think about new ways to think and act on this issue.
There must be a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, not with Palestinians suffering under oppressive conditions, but as a place where all live with peace and equality. It is time for Pope Francis to do more than talk. He must go to Gaza and make a stand for peace and freedom.
